It appears that Mr. Daniss has been employed for some time in the Royal Mint, Tower Hill.
I am glad to learn that in your opinion he is qualified for the appointment, as he has been recommended.
I will regard it as unfortunate that it does not appear that he has any knowledge of coining operations, or the construction of coining machinery generally, but that he is making himself practically acquainted with it through a course of instruction.
In kind regard, I am told he should be placed under Mr. Hamilton for the purpose of gaining experience in the firing of the machinery wall for the purpose of coining.
